The Switch mobile app will no longer support the online lounge function of Splatoon 2


with Splatoon 3 Coming to be launched in 2022, Nintendo seems to be gradually reducing certain features related to the following Splatoon 2.

In the news on its official support page, the company announced that the game online lounge function in the Nintendo Switch Online application will be discontinued on July 28 this year:

Players can already use the Online Lounge function of the Nintendo Switch Online app to arrange Splatoon 2 Use their smart devices to fight online, for example by sending URL links that allow social media friends to join the room.

Starting on July 28, 2021, the Nintendo Switch Online app will no longer support the Online Lounge function.

Although this feature will no longer be supported, players can still voice chat with friends and use other features. Nintendo also pointed out that it currently does not plan to make other changes to the application:

The app will continue to allow friends to voice chat, and no other changes will be made to the app at this time.

You can also continue to start local or online multiplayer games in Splatoon 2 Do not use the online lounge function.
