The next generation of Apex Legends may be coming soon

A next-generation version of Apex Legends is likely to emerge soon, and there are reports suggesting that a native PS5 version of the game has been found on the PSN.

A recent tweet from the PlayStation Game Size Twitter account (below), which reports findings from the entire PSN database on new game additions and file sizes, is the first 80GB with the PS5 version of the game on the back end of the service. The current upward compatible PS4 version of the game is about 55GB on the first download.

The next-generation release of Apex Legends is known to have been in the works for some time, as Respawn spoke openly about the idea at several Reddit AMAs last year. Respawn itself hasn’t mentioned anything about the imminent update yet. However, in Season 12 of the game, which starts on February 8, developers may be waiting to connect the new version to a wider set of updates.
