Starfield has full mod support, Todd Howard confirms

A few months after releasing the story trailer, Bethesda goes into a little more detail on what to expect from the new sci-fi space role-playing game Starfield. Among them, Chief Starfield has full mod support in a new Reddit AMA session with fans, according to director Todd Howard.

“Our plan [is to] It has the same full mod support as previous games, “says Howard. We love their work and hope to have more careers from it. “

Modders is certainly looking forward to seeing how widespread its support is and what the community can ultimately do with it. It originally powered The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76, especially given that Starfield was developed with a significantly updated version of the studio’s Creation engine.

Bethesda games, especially Skyrim and Fallout, continue to be part of the most active modding community in PC games.that’s all Nexus Mods, Skyrim’s original mods boast an incredible total of 1.8 billion downloads, and Skyrim’s Special Edition mods boast an additional 1.1 billion total downloads.

Apart from the expected graphic enhancements, custom characters and quality of life improvements, Skyrim mods have become a notorious source of ingenious and sometimes horrifying customizations.

Howard also shared additional details about Starfield:

  • When asked if Starfield had a fellow robot, Howard replied briefly: “Yes, it’s kind.” My only hope is that they are at least as cool as Nick Valentine.
  • In Starfield’s character creation, players can choose pronouns (Howard lists him, her, and them), and Bethesda recorded “all relevant dialogues to support that choice.”
