As eager forum and social media followers will realize, in the last few hours, discussions about the Nintendo Switch’Pro’ mode have accelerated. Bloomberg Considered a report [paywall], Our own sources also support some of the same details.
The headline news for those desperate to see the new hardware is that it is expected to be revealed. before E3-Bloomberg reported that this will allow major third parties to showcase all products at upcoming events. In other words, at any time in the next two weeks, as long as the report is accurate.
Manufacturing is expected to start in July and the goal is to start in September or October, which will also enable the system to enter the busiest shopping period of the year.
Interestingly, the Bloomberg report raises two key issues-the new model will replace the current standard model (eliminate the old version) and then be sold together with the Lite system. The report predicts that the price of the new model will be higher than the current $299, although Nintendo can say that it can do this and regards Lite as an affordable option for portable products. As previously rumored, Bloomberg reported that the new system will be able to provide 4K output after docking.
In terms of potential manufacturing challenges, as seen in PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, suppliers are reportedly confident that the system can be mass-produced. This may be due to the use of tailor-made parts for the hardware-according to reports, it will be equipped with an upgraded NVIDIA GPU, and as mentioned earlier, this is a 7-inch Samsung OLED display. However, in spite of this, components such as Bluetooth chips are clearly still potential bottlenecks. Therefore, it is still necessary to ensure the resources required for comprehensive manufacturing.
These reports are definitely motivated, and multiple sources have conducted round-robin discussions, so maybe the timing of the new Switch system is finally very close. Please let us know your thoughts in the comments!
