update: It seems that the mysterious new controller could be revealed much sooner than we initially thought.

Please note that in the original FCC application, all sensitive materials will expire on March 16, 2022 (see the original article below for more information). This is currently changing, but Nintendo has chosen to expire application confidentiality on September 24, 2021, and may spell an official announcement at some point this week.

As explained in OatmealDome, the original application still shows the old date, but you can find the new date here..

Original article (Thursday, September 16, 2021 14:40 BST): The new FCC application suggests that a brand new Nintendo Switch controller may be coming soon, and it looks like that. Maybe … It will be announced in the very near future.

As Twitter users found @ SamusHunter2, NS application Is simply labeled “Nintendo Game Controller” and was first released on September 16, 2021. FCCIDs are assigned to devices registered with the US Federal Communications Commission and must legally sell wireless devices in the country.

The FCCID for the new product Nintendo has applied for is “BKEHAC043”, which is the first clue as to the potential of the product. “HAC” is the code used for all Nintendo Switch products (“HAC-001” is written on the back of the switch itself. Joy-Con on the left is “HAC-015”, Ring-Con of Ring Fit Adventure Is “HAC-022”.’For example), certifies that the section of ID selected by the applicant,’HAC-043′, refers to something related to the switch.

So I know we have a new switch controller filing ready, but what is that controller? Two options come to mind immediately. The first option is a new controller designed for use with Nintendo Switch Online.

Interestingly, Switch’s official SNES controller, designed for use with Switch Online’s SNES app, has the product code “HAC-042”. The “HAC-043” could be the next line-perhaps an N64-inspired controller, or a Game Boy-style option that goes with recent rumors? Perhaps for a completely different system?

The second option that seems relatively reasonable is the new Pro Controller, which may be launched with the Switch OLED next month. Perhaps by finally offering a controller with a headphone jack or other new features, it will be added to Switch’s recent Bluetooth audio updates. Of course, this is all purely our guess so far. You have to wait for what happens to the product.

The code of the SNES controller of the switch is “HAC-042”. What is “HAC-043”?

Well, I hope it’s not too far when it comes to learning more. The application’s confidential materials are valid until March 16, 2022. This means that the FCC has no obligation to hide the information associated with it from that date. It’s safe to assume that you’ll hear about what the controller is before that.
