Pokemon Trading Card Game Online “Sunset FAQ” Explains Shutdown Process

It describes how this app will be removed and the server will be shut down “just before the release” of the new game.

Existing players will be able to transfer data the first time they log in to Pokemon TCG Live. This includes, but not necessarily all, transfers between the majority of cards. Code cards have also been found to be compatible with TCG Live, but some of these codes may unlock “different items” in new apps.

TPC also explained some of the reasons behind the current game shutdown-not only will TCG Live be easier to update, but it will also be more accessible between smartphones, tablets, PCs and Macs.
