Play Age of Empires 4 early in today’s technical stress test

Age of Empires 4 is hosting a technical stress test today and will be open to everyone through Steam and the Xbox Insider Hub in the Microsoft Store. The test will run from 10 am on Friday, September 17th to 10 am on Monday, September 20th, according to the news post. Age of Empires website..

The four civilizations available in beta are English, Chinese, the Holy Roman Empire, and the Abbasid Caliphate. The test will be available with five different maps that the developer emphasizes as “focusing on the multiplayer experience”. Single-player options available for testing include playing against AI in a multiplayer custom lobby and playing Mission Zero, a game tutorial.

The closed beta version of Age of Empires 4 was held earlier this year. Since then, the developers have made several changes, including increased camera distance options, “balancing work” between English and Chinese civilization, and various bug fixes.

Age of Empires 4 will be available on October 28th. Available on Steam and Windows Store on PC. The Xbox Game Pass for PC members will give you access to the game on the release date.
