Paradox cancels “some” unreleased games to focus on proven genres

Paradox Interactive has stopped developing several unreleased games in order to put more resources into safer bets for the benefit of the company.

Publisher announced cancellation at Thursday press release.. Paradox says he’s still working on 15 new games, including Victoria 3, Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines 2, Crusader Kings 3 on the console, and Shadowrun Trilogy on the console. Paradox is also working on many new DLCs.

Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox, said the company will focus on its reputation for strategic games and will make the game last longer after launch.

Best latest PC games (summer 2020 update)

Paradox released two games in 2020: Empire of Sin and Crusader Kings III. Crusader Kings III received critic praise 11th best review game of 2020 on Metacritic.. Paradox specifically states in a press release that Royal Court DLC is still under development for Crusader Kings III.

The publisher also released the strategy game Surviving the Aftermath in October 2020, which remains in Early Access at the time of writing.

This change in paradox direction may have been a creative difference that led to Eva Lungeldo resigning as CEO of Paradox in September due to the company’s new direction.

According to 10 out of 10 reviews of IGN’s Cruiser Kings III, the game “takes the throne as the new king of historic strategy.” Crusader Kings III was announced for the Xbox Series X / S and PS5, but has no release date at this time. Until then, read more about the upcoming Royal Court DLC.
