The first official game trailer for Life is Strange: True Colors has just been uploaded to YouTube, and it shows our nervous rookie hero Alex Chen exploring the record store in the small town she just moved to.Graphically, it is already more impressive than the original Life is weird, With subtle facial expressions and matching lip sync.
In the trailer, Alex is waiting for her brother Gabe at a record store-but she meets Stephen and Ryan, two of her potential romantic candidates. Both of them like music because Stephen runs the radio station and Ryan… is a “tree policeman” who listens to birdsong on the CD. Thankfully, from the beginning, the two had a chemical reaction because Alex was flirting with them jokingly.
Alex seems more confident, um, Cool Compared with Life, the teenagers are Max and Chloe from Strange. They are cute, of course-but embarrassing and working hard respectively, bless their hearts. In contrast, Alex seems a little effortlessly fashionable, and is someone we might want to be friends with.Or the one we want Yes.
Sadly, despite many musical references, including Smashmouth and Celine Dion, Alex’s empathy abilities are scarce here Very Cool. We should know. However, in the end, we saw Steph received an angry call, as if she was on fire with Alex-and Alex seemed to be struggling with it.
The dialogue is natural and low-key, which is what we worry about—correct writing is the most important thing in a narrative game—but so far, it looks like they have done it. Even in this scene, we see Alex evolve from a shy newcomer to a new friend who is lovingly teasing her. It’s so cute!
Unfortunately, the September 10th release date of True Colors has been postponed, although we do not know when the new date will exceed “this year”.Similarly, the Remake collectionIncluding the first game and its prequel, postponed from September to “early 2022”. Both delays were due to the studio’s desire to ease the pressure on the development team after the difficulties associated with the pandemic.
What do you think of the trailer? Does it answer any questions you have about True Colors’ writing or roles? Let us know in the comments!
