Monster Hunter Rise doesn’t cross-save or cross-play, Capcom says [Update]

Update 10/11/20 1212:40 pm PT:

Despite fan requests, Capcom has not added cross-play or cross-save to Monster Hunter Rise on PC.

In a tweet, the developer said, “After investigating the entire development process, we found that we couldn’t implement it this time.”

Previously released earlier this year exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, given the nature of Monster Hunter’s dirty gameplay loops, players can bring the gear they’ve gained in hundreds of hours of gameplay to the new version through cross-save. I was expecting it. Unfortunately, this seems unlikely now.

Monster Hunter Rise will be available on Steam on January 12, 2022. The demo will take place on October 13th this week.

Research shows that Monster Hunter Rise players are looking forward to the final cross-play between Nintendo Switch and PC.

Capcom New survey As part of TGS2021 about Monster Hunter Rise and the newly announced expansion, Sunbreak. Part of the survey asks players for features that make the PC version of the game more attractive.

Possible options for the survey include cross-play between the PC version and the Nintendo Switch version, and cross-save or cross-progression with the Switch version. This does not confirm that Capcom is working on these features, but indicates that the company is assessing its potential. “No announcement has been made,” Capcom said in an official statement.

Monster Hunter World, the last major monster hunter title before Rise, was released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but never received cross-play support.

Monster Hunter Rise fans will see many new events at this week’s Monster Hunter TGS Showcase event, including a confirmation of the Master Rank for Sunbreak Expansion, the release date of the Monster Hunter Rise on Steam on January 12, 2022, and the 30th Anniversary Sonic Promise. “Monster Hunter Rise is a combination of classic Monster Hunter ideas, some of the best improvements in the world, and unique, clever new mechanics,” said a review of Monster Hunter Rise on Switch.
