Kena: Spirits Bridge Photo Mode Announced

Prior to its launch on September 21, Ember Labs, the developer of Kena: Bridge of Spirits, announced that the game will have a photo mode.

Revealed in an article about Playstation blog, Kena: The Bridge of Spirits photo mode contains one or two features that aren’t common in the more “standard” versions of the features found in many games.

The Bridge of Spirits gives players the option to bring the character to life to set the perfect snap, as well as stop the time to allow the player to quickly perform a freeze frame of action. Kena and the other characters in the game keep paying attention to you while you move the camera in photo mode. Reposition to accommodate more individual and intimate shots.

Photo mode also has its own “cheese” feature. When you’re ready to fix the angle and add another shot to your album, select the feature and the character in the photo will pose by saying “cheese”. According to Ember Labs, many characters in the game have multiple poses. This means you can take different shots anywhere in the game without repeated and memorable shots.

Thomas Varga, producer of Ember Labs, talked a bit more about why the team wanted to embody the photo mode of Kena: Bridge of Spirits. “The development of photo mode and cheese features was an exciting animation opportunity for us,” he said in a PlayStation Blog post. “This feature not only introduced another interesting element to the player, but also showed off the character’s personality as we developed each unique pose.”
