Halo Infinite Multiplayer: 343 clarifies why this is in beta and extends the Season 1 Battle Pass

Joseph Staten, creative director of Halo Infinite, has revealed why the early release of the game’s multiplayer mode will be in beta until the official release date of the full game on December 8. 343 has also extended the Battle Pass for the first season of multiplayer mode until May 2. , 2022.

NS Halo Waypoint Blog Staten explained that the game’s surprise launch was being treated as a beta version. This means that the team expects more players to come in next month and wants to be ready, so they may run into bugs or see changes.

“The previous multiplayer technical preview was a great help for service and infrastructure battle testing,” Staten wrote. “But we are preparing to significantly increase the number of players jumping to Halo Infinite on the December 8th launch date, so we want to make sure that all systems are working properly during this beta period. There may be some bumps and bugs in. During the period, it marks the official start of Halo Infinite Season 1, with all-day maps and modes enabled, and the entire Season 1 Battle Pass enabled. “

Participants have been unable to keep going in past technical previews, but Staten has revealed that this is not the case for the beta version. “All Battle Passes and customized items acquired or purchased during the beta will remain intact after December 8th.”

Staten also noted that multiplayer Season 1 content, including the Battle Pass, has been extended until May 2, 2022. This is much longer than the originally announced three-month lifespan of 343.

“We want to extend Season 1 to ensure that Season 2 has time to meet high quality standards and to complete Season 2 development in a healthy and sustainable way for the team. I’ve decided, “Staten wrote.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer: Season 1 Rewards

According to Staten, Season 1 will add more content as a result, including events and cosmetics. The game currently offers a set of free items to all players who started the game before November 23 (see gallery above). After that, the first event of the game, Fracture: Tenrai, will start. After the game is released on December 8th, 343 will announce more Season 1 events.

The expansion of that Battle Pass makes it a little easier to reach higher levels of rewards, but at this point it can’t solve the community’s biggest concerns.

Looking further ahead, Season 2, Campaign Cooperation, and Forge Mode will all be discussed in January.
