Fortnite’s “Rainbow Royale” celebrates the LGBTQ+ community with music and rainbows


Pride month may be over, but Pride (lowercase) is all year round-including video games. Fortnite added a new event called Rainbow Battle Royale In the game, celebrate diversity, the community and its many LGBTQ+ players with rainbow items, new songs by LGBTQ+ artists, and a large number of pride flags.

Rainbow items include:

  • Four new rainbow sprays (Llama, Heart, Disco Ball Grenade and Stars)
  • “Sunshine and Rainbow” packaging
  • “Bow” emoji

There is also a new rainbow flag prop in Fortnite Creative.

There will also be new music in Battle Royale, from Rocket League’s Love ISLV playlist Last month, especially to celebrate LGBTQ+ musicians:

The Rainbow Royale event will start today on July 20th and will last until July 27th at 8pm Eastern Time (July 28th, 1am British Summer Time).
