Former Dishonored And Prey Devs’ new indie Weird West has a release date

Weird West, the first game of WolfEye Studios, has set a release date of January 11, 2022.

Set in a surreal version of America’s developing frontier, action RPGs will be released on PCs, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles.Pre-orders are now available at vapor, And grant the player an in-game horse named Calamity. This horse doubles in stock size and comes with a saddle bag with lock picks, bandages, tools and other items, and a Spade Golden Ace Upgrade Token.

The announcement coincides with a new video highlighting interactivity in the Wild West world. WolfEye wants every item that looks interactive to work as expected, and so many simulation layers have been applied to meet that demand. The video also reveals that there are five playable characters, each with their own story. One of those characters was bounty hunter Jane Bell, whose son was killed and his spouse kidnapped.

Weird West is a top-down RPG that developers describe as “immersive sims” and fall into the same category as games like Dishonored and Prey. That’s not surprising given that WolfEye Studios was founded by Raphael Colantonio, the former founder of Arkane Studios. He set up Wolf Eye with fellow Arkane veteran Julien Roby.
