Ubisoft has revealed that Far Cry 6 does not have ray tracing on the console.This news is TechRadar, Ubisoft 3D Team Lead Programmer contacted Ubisoft for confirmation after saying Wccftech Its ray tracing is a “PC-only feature”. In addition to ray tracing, AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution feature is only available on the PC version of Far Cry 6.
“Ray tracing is a PC-only feature,” Ubisoft told TechRadar in a new statement. “The console aims to take advantage of new hardware features to optimize performance targeting 4K, achieving, for example, 60 FPS, while maintaining a consistent experience with previous generation consoles. ”
Ray tracing has been a PC-only feature for generations to come, but with the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, some games on these consoles have real-time lighting effects.
For example, Doom Eternal has ray tracing on PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as other titles such as Spider-Man Remastered, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Deathloop. However, Far Cry 6 is not one of those games.

Ubisoft programmer Stephanie Brenham said that the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Far Cry 6 not only target 4K resolution and 60fps gameplay, but also better HD textures, higher levels of detail, and longer drawing distances. I told Wccftech that it has such things. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, and Xbox One X versions of the game.
