Disney teases the announcement of the Star Wars video game in December

Disney and Lucasfilm made fun of the December Star Wars video game announcement as part of a publishing campaign to announce new Star Wars products every Tuesday for the rest of the year.

As announced in the article Star Wars official website, Both companies have launched the “Bring Home the Bounty” campaign. In this campaign, “New Star Wars toys, collectibles, books, apparel, etc.” will be released weekly from now until the end of December.

Through its interactive posters on the site, Disney gave fans a glimpse of what they might expect from potential announcements throughout the campaign. Every week, the poster features various characters and souvenirs from the entire franchise. However, on December 14, Disney chose to lead in the image of a gamepad instead. This suggests that new Star Wars games may be announced in the middle.

It’s unclear at this point whether the announcement will include information about existing games or something entirely new, but there are currently various developers working on games set in galaxies far away. Earlier this year, it was announced that Ubisoft was working on its own open world Star Wars entry, as EA’s exclusive contract for Star Wars games is nearing its end. In an interview with IGN earlier this year, Walt Disney Games SVP Sean Shoptaw explained that he and his team met Ubisoft Massive after Disney acquired Fox.

EA’s exclusive deal with the Star Wars franchise will run out, but that doesn’t mean that publishers are out of space. Earlier this year, EA CEO Andrew Wilson made it very clear that Star Wars was very beneficial to the company and confirmed that he would continue to work on space-based games. One of the games that EA seems to trust is the sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order.

Apart from that, Quantic Dream is rumored to be developing its own Star Wars game, and at Sony’s PlayStation showcase, Aspyr’s team “Zero” the Knights of the Old Republic for Star Wars: The Old Republic for modern consoles. It became clear that it was being remade. The remake of KOTOR will be released for PS5 as a dedicated console at the time of release in parallel with the PC release, but there is no official release date of the game at this time.

It’s everyone’s guess whether December 14 will dig deeper into any of the above projects or link to something completely different. But for now, you can check out this week’s announcement from “Bring Home the Bounty” revealed. Star Wars Funko Pop, Action Figure, Clothing Range..
