Celebrating the fifth anniversary of No Man’s Sky

today, Unmanned sky Celebrating an important milestone in its ongoing journey.

Five years ago, the first group of travelers set foot on their first planet, stared at their first star system, and embarked on a journey that many people are still doing today. On that day in 2016, our small team could hardly imagine what would happen in the future.

So far, the game has undergone 16 major free updates. This may be the biggest update in 2018 when we release the next update and when Xbox players first join the community.

Since then, we have introduced pets, visual enhancements, living ships, mechas, abandoned freighters, expeditions, more diverse biomes, cross-plays and more.

Another important moment came in 2020, when we opened the door and saw a large number of new travelers pouring into the universe as we entered Xbox Game Pass. Overnight, Nexus (the in-game social center) is full of players who want to connect with each other and start interstellar missions together.

Unmanned sky Players spend hundreds of hours in the game, build bases, start community missions alone or in groups of friends, or follow the path to the center of the universe. When the next generation is released, we are happy to welcome players who have an enhanced super version of the universe as another free upgrade. Xbox players are an important part of our growing player base, and we can proudly say that this is one of the most popular communities in all games.

For our small development team, this is a long journey, but we still have a long road map ahead. The next update will never be too far away. In fact, today, we announced that the next update will be Frontiers, and more information will be released soon.

Our journey continues.

“No Man’s Sky” has completed all 12 major updates including Origins, and our 3.0 update has greatly expanded the universe. Inspired by the adventures and imaginations of our favorite classic science fiction novels, No Man’s Sky presents a galaxy for you to explore, full of unique planets and life forms, as well as constant dangers and actions. In “No Man’s Sky”, each star is the light of the distant sun, and each one orbits a planet full of life. You can choose to go to any one of them. Fly smoothly from deep space to the surface of the planet, without loading screens, and without restrictions. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you will find places and creatures that other players have never seen before-maybe never again. Embark on an epic voyage. There is an irresistible pulse in the center of the galaxy, which will attract you to embark on a journey to it to understand the true nature of the universe. However, in the face of hostile creatures and ferocious pirates, you will know that death has a price, and survival will depend on the choices you make on how to upgrade your ship, your weapons and suits. Find your own destiny Your voyage in no man’s deep sky is up to you. Will you become a warrior, plunder the weak and plunder their wealth, or kill the pirates to get their bounty? If you upgrade your ship for speed and weapons, the power is yours. Or a trader? Find abundant resources in the forgotten world and develop them at the highest price. Invest in more cargo space and you will get rich returns. Or maybe an explorer? Go beyond the known boundaries and discover places and things that have never been seen before. Upgrade your engine to jump farther, and strengthen your suit to survive in a toxic environment, which will kill careless people. Share your journey The galaxy is a vibrant place. Trade convoys shuttle between the stars, factions are fighting for territory, pirates are chasing careless people, and the police are constantly watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your findings with them on a map that spans a known space. Maybe you will see the results of their actions and your own…
