Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Date Announced

EA has unveiled the date for the next Battlefield 2042 Open Beta, starting next week.

Specifically, you will be able to jump (or wing suit glide) to the battlefield from October 6th to October 9th. Anyone interested can download and play the beta version.

In addition to these open beta announcements, EA also revealed what players can expect during the four days.

For starters, there is only one map in beta, called Orbital. On this map, there is a huge space rocket that counts down, and the battles on this map take place around its imminent launch. This map and the chaos that always occurs on it can be seen throughout the new map. When it comes to doing things in Orbital, you’re playing the game’s conquest mode. In this classic battlefield mode, teams fight in specific sectors of the map, attempting to catch and take over some flags that act as control points. Instead of fighting for a single control point, you basically always fight for multiple control points.

During the beta, you can choose from four specialist characters: Webster Mackay, Maria Falck, Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsky, and Wikus “Casper” Van Daele. Mackay is your standard soldier character, with grappling hooks and the nimble ability to move faster while aiming.

Falk is a support character with the S21 Syringe Pistol, which allows players to fire healing syringes at their allies, and the combat surgeon’s ability to restore downed allies to their original state during revival.

Guskovsky is a game leader-like character that comes with an SG-36 Sentry Gun that automatically finds and attacks enemy targets detected within a particular area. He also has the Sentry Operator ability to detect enemy targets when the SG-36 Sentry Gun locks the enemy, making it easy to defeat the enemy.

The last specialist available in the game, Daele, is a standard sniper character. Their loadouts include OV-P reconnaissance drones that can discover nearby moving targets and confuse them via EMP blasting. You can also specify the target of the lock-on weapon. These loadouts also feature a movement sensor that warns the player that they are approaching an enemy, both when launched on the ground and when maneuvering a reconnaissance drone.
